Contracts Manager
Tenure: Full time / Permanent

We are actively seeking to appoint a proactive, outgoing, and highly motivated Contracts Manager specialising in high-end, private construction projects.
The role will include:
As Contracts Manager you will be responsible for delivering projects from pre-construction to completion within an agreed timeframe and to the highest possible standard, including but not limited to the following:
Manage multiple projects of varying sizes including all operational aspects of the project lifecycle
Develop and implement project strategies with a focus on safety, quality and profitable delivery
Produce and manage construction programmes
Manage direct workforce, sub-contractors and supply chain
Lead and motivate project teams in all aspects of onsite delivery
Manage project handover ensuring snag free completion
Health and safety management, including preparation of Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Ensuring health and safety compliance is maintained and company policies and procedures are adhered
Identify and manage potential risks and opportunities
Assist develop policies and procedures
Prepare progress reports and attend meetings
Work between our Edinburgh office and sites
Qualifications and skills:
Excellent communication and project management skills
Proven project / contracts management experience
Confident and articulate
Good people management skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High level of IT literacy - especially with MS Word, Outlook, Excel.
Must be able to lead from the front and develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with clients and consultants
Must have excellent technical knowledge of modern construction techniques and methodology
The person:
Ideally you will come from a management background hold a construction qualification such as a degree or HND in a construction related discipline such as Construction Management. We would also be interested in speaking to candidates who do not hold qualifications but have proven industry experience.
Must be local to Edinburgh or willing to relocate. A full UK driving license is essential.
Landscape Foreman

We are seeking to appoint a talented Landscape Foreman to lead high-end landscape construction projects across Scotland.
As Landscape Foreman you will be responsible for one of our construction sites and implement projects ranging in value from £50K - 3Million
The role will include
Daily landscape construction tasks
Managing a site team (of up to 4 Landscape Technicians) in daily project tasks
Delivering an excellent finish across all landscape activities, including hard and soft landscaping
Setting out complex sites from detailed drawing packages
Ordering of materials and machinery
Retaining a detailed site diary
Working as part of a multi-skilled team, including designers, architects, specialist sub-contractors and clients
Delegating project tasks across a team and ensuring site efficiency
Ensuring a safe working environment and engaging in company H&S policies
Ensuring company machinery is maintained to a high standard
Qualifications and skills:
Excellent construction skills across all landscape task
Excellent communication skills
Proven project delivery experience
Confident, personable and articulate
Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
A proven understanding of landscape construction and process.
Must be able to lead from the front and engage site teams in the delivery of exceptional projects

The role will include:
Daily landscape construction tasks
Helping to deliver an excellent finish across all landscape activities, including hard and soft landscaping
Assisting Landscape Foreman with setting out complex sites from detailed drawing packages
Working as part of a multi-skilled team, including designers, architects, specialist sub-contractors and clients
Delegating project tasks across a team and ensuring site efficiency
Engaging in company H&S policies
Ensuring company machinery is maintained to a high standard
Qualifications and skills:
An understanding of landscape construction or related discipline
An ability to deliver quality finish in landscape construction tasks
Confident, personable and articulate
Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Head Gardener
Tenure: Full Time
Salary: Up to £30,000 p/annum + Company Vehicle

Stephen Ogilvie Garden Design are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and qualified head gardener to join our growing horticultural team, handling a portfolio of stunning private gardens and estates in and around Edinburgh.
The successful Head Gardener candidate will have excellent plant, pest and diseases identification skills, knowledge of how and when to prune shrubs and trees, how to care for herbaceous borders and experience of planting new gardens. There are opportunities to design new borders and subsequent planting plans for new and existing gardens. Experience of managing clients and small teams would be preferable.
As this is a role for a horticulturalist, we ask that candidates are qualified to RHS Level 3 or equivalent, hold a PA1 & PA6 spraying license (or similar) and ideally a chainsaw license. Experience of horticultural equipment and a full, clean driving license is also required.
We provide a uniform, PPE and all necessary tools and equipment, as well as opportunities for additional qualifications and courses that are relevant to the role.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am – 4.30pm. We will consider either full or part-time for the right applicant.
